A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COP~IMISSION OF THE CITY
OF i-1IAI~II BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING Ai1D AUTHORIZING
TI3E EXECUTION OF THE LEASE AGREEP4ENT WITH CARNER-
NIASOiQ ASSOCIATES, LTD. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND P'IAN-
' AGEI~IEIQT OF A IyIARINA AND DRY STORAGE FACILITY IN THE
SOUTIi SHORE REDEVELOPMENT AREA.
WHEP.EAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of leasing
land for the construction and development of the I4iami Beach
;.-~<~rina in order to msximize its use far_ a marina and recreat_oi~~?_
', facility, offering dockage and other marina related services, for
the use of and for the benefit of the general public; and
WHEREAS, the CITY has solicited and received proposals
pursuant to the Community Redevelopment P.ct and pursuant to Bid
i:+To. 54-33 for the lease of tie marina and Carper-:iason Associates,
Ltd. has duly submitted a proposal to finance, construct and operate
a marina in accordance with the bid specifications; and
t9I3EREAS, by resolution, the City Commission, after re-
viewing the proposals submitted for the marina, authorized and
directed the City IZanager to negotiate ~r~ith Carper-r'Iason P.ssociates,
South Sizore I+Iarina Joint Venture and Frank Tolin in that order; and
WHEREAS, 'cite City and Carper-(iason Associates, Ltd. izave
successfully negotiated a lease agreement; and
WIEREAS, Carper-Mason Associates, Ltd. has executed said
Lease Agreement, which Agreement does not alter the municipal use
of t:ie property and offers fair value to the CITY as consideration
for this lease; and
l1tEI2EAS, Garner-?iason Associates, Ltd. has represented
that it is both desirous and capable of financing, constructing
a;zd operating the facilities at said marina; ~
I10W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO"~~IISSIOIJ
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH:
That the City Commission, pursuant to the Community
Redevelopment Act, approves and authorizes the execution of the
Lease Agreement with Garner-Mason Associates, htd. for the con-
struction and management of a marina and dry storage facility
in tiie South Sizore Redevelopment area.
