~~
This Letter to Commission is to alert you to an upcoming play, In Mortal Sin /Pecado
Mortal," that will be presented at the Byron Carlyle Theater the weekends of July 10 -12 and
July 17 - 19, 2009.
A press conference took place last week annoucing this upcoming play and publicizing this
event as a "PLA Y WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY WILSON BLASS OPENING ON SDUTH
BEACH WITH RESISTANCE BY MANY AND T1ES TO A CERTAIN 'SCANDAL'
SURROUNDING LOCAL CELEBRITY PRIEST" The press release issued by the
organizers last week further states that:
"The controversial play opens a Pandora's Box and reveals a prohibited
love between a priest and a young woman. As this play is about to hit the
stage at one of Miami Beach's beloved theaters. a lot of controversy is
already bubbling. Media is aware of the many questions and issues
arisen via behavior considered scandalous by men of the cloth. This play
tells a love story and unfolds other taboos exploring carnal desires and
therefore scandal."
As you are aware, Global Spectrum is the management company hired by the City to handle
day-today management of the facility, including facility rentals. This is provided to you as an
information item only, as I thought you would like to be informed of this upcoming production
in case you hear from residents sensitive to the issues it raises.
