Miami Beach "Recreation Review" Receives State Award
The City of Miami Beach's Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded a
Media Excellence Award from The Florida Recreation and Park Association, a statewide
non-profit organization representing local government parks and recreation interests in
the State of Florida.
"Recreation Review" has won the Media Excellence Award in the Print Catalogue
category. The publication has a distribution rate of 69%, and serves the purpose of
opening a dialogue that helps the community better understand the needs and interests
of its residents.
Awards chair Karen Palus stated, "Recreation Review maintains a current and relevant
format, making it an easy choice to be a repeat winner in our Print Catalogue category.
The publication tells the story of a successful community and a successful agency,
through photographs, stories on program successes and activities of teams and leagues.
They also profile the professional parks and recreation staff and their commitment to
excellence."
The Award will be presented August 27, 2009 at the Association's Annual Awards
Ceremony.
