The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) has
scheduled the Miami Beach Police Department for an On-Site Assessment as part of a
program to achieve re-accreditation.
As part of the On-Site Assessment, agency employees and members of the community are
invited to offer comments at a Public Information Session scheduled for Monday, August 24,
2009 at 6:00 p.m. The session will be conducted in the City Commission Chambers, City
Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139. Members of the
community are invited to offer their comments by calling (305) 604-2280 on Monday, August
24, 2009, between the hours of 1:00 p m. and 3:00 p. m. Comments will be taken by the
CALEA Assessors. Telephone comments, as well as appearances at the Public Information
Sessions should address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA standards.
