SUBJECT: Information on Teen Club
We are proud to announce that the Teen Club, which started with five (5) teens in 2004, now
boasts 298 registered members at 21St Street Recreation Center and North Shore Park Youth
Center. Below is a sample and future events scheduled for participating teens. You are cordially
invited to attend all of them.
Disability Awareness Day - On Friday, October 23, 2009, the Teen Club will be volunteering at
the Disability Awareness Day event and helping the Miami Beach's Disability Access Committee
(DAC). The event is taking place at the Euclid Circle on Lincoln Road Mall, Euclid Avenue and
Lincoln Road from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Special Olympic State Games -Thirty Teen Club members will travel to Orlando's Special
Olympic State Games on Friday, October 30, 2009 to cheer up and assist the Special Olympic
members during the event.
Asylum -The Miami Beach Teen Drama Club invites you to their newest theatrical piece
"Asylum", premiering on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the 21St Street Teen Center, 2100
Washington Avenue at 7:00 p.m. This play is a dark comedic satire that touches on important
issues such as the consequences of smoking and violence, while having fun and still raising
awareness. "Asylum" will be the first of three theatrical pieces that the Miami Beach players will
be performing throughout the year.
