SUBJECT: Sleepless Night
As you know, on Saturday, November 7, 2009, Miami Beach will once again host Sleepless
Night, presented by Audi, an all-night, FREE, citywide celebration of the arts. presented by
the City of Miami Beach Tourism and Cultural Development (TCD) Department and Cultural
Arts Council (CAC). This event is being produced in-house by City staff and was created as
a result of the response from the community in the 2005 and 2007 Community Satisfaction
Surveys where residents identified a desire for more cultural activities.
I would like to invite you to attend a Press Conference on Friday. November 6, 2009, on the
Ocean Drive Stage located in Lummus Park between 6" and 7"'streets acrossfrom the Park
Central Hotel at 2pm. Additionally, please join us for the kick-off ceremony on November 7`"
at 5:30 p.m. at the Catalina Hotel at 1732 Collins Avenue for the official kick-off of Sleepless
Night.
This year's event includes over 150 unforgettable arts and entertainment experiences for all
tastes and all ages, all night long, all for free. The full program is available on-line at
www sleeplessnight.org, and will be available in printed form at locations throughout the
Greater Miami area on October 26. This year will feature virtual reality live animation, digital
nightscape grafitti, interative three-screen manipulated film, musical marionettes, a pajama
run, helium balloon acrobats, a flash mob dance, and much more.
