sua~ECT: Condominium Workshop with the State of Florida Department of
Business and Professional Regulations
The purpose of this LTC is to announce that the City of Miami Beach Community Resource
and Outreach Team in partnership with the Florida Department of Business and
Professional Regulation will be conducting a Condominium Workshop on Tuesday, January
12, 2010 in the Commission Chambers, Miami Beach City Hall, 1700 convention Center
Drive at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be How to Navigate the State of Florida's Complaint
Process for Condo's. The session will focus on Access to Records, Condo Elections and
Financial Issues. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation is the State
Agency that is responsible for protecting Florida's residents and visitors. In addition to
licensing professionals, the Department oversees certain regulated industries. Among those
industries is the Condominium, Timeshares and Mobile Homes Division.
The workshop presenters will be Mr. Patrick Flynn and Mr. Jan Shekitka. Mr. Flynn has
been with the Division for 22 years and Mr. Shekitka has been with them for 4 years. This
team has been travelling the State of Florida to better educate condominium residents and
board members.
