2009-27244 ResoRESOLUTION N0.2009-27244 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, READOPTING CITY OF MIAMI BEACH RESOLUTION NO. 2008-26941 SUPPORTING AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA STATUTES TO INCREASE MORTGAGE HOLDERS' RESPONSIBILITY FOR DELINQUENT CONDOMINIUM, CO-OPERATIVE, AND HOMEOWNER ASSOCIATIONS FEES, REGULAR ASSESSMENTS AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ON UNITS IN FORECLOSURE AND ON FORECLOSED UNITS. WHEREAS, on November 5~', 2008, City of Miami Beach Resolution No. 2008-26941 was passed and adopted, said Resolution expressing the City Commission's support of amendments to the Florida Statutes to increase mortgage holders' responsibility for delinquent condominium, co-operative, and homeowner associations fees, regular assessments and special assessments on units in foreclosure and on foreclosed units; and WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the continuing importance of seeking such amendments to the Florida Statutes, given the current economic conditions which include a housing market crisis in which South Florida faces has been and continues to experience a significant increase in foreclosure suits filed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby readopt City of Miami Beach Resolution No. 2008-26941 supporting amendments to the Florida Statutes to increase mortgage holders' responsibility for delinquent condominium, co- operative, and. homeowner associations fees, regular assessments and special assessments on units in foreclosure and on foreclosed units.
