Gonzalez, City Manager (1~G ~ DATE: April 26, 2010 -U\ /~ SUBJECT: Miami-Dade Association of Chiefs of Police Dinner This Letter to the Mayor and City Commission is to extend an invitation to the Mayor and City Commission to attend the Miami-Dade Association of Chiefs of Police dinner being hosted by the Miami Beach Police Department. The Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police (MDCACP) was founded in 1927 and has a proud eighty-one year history of being the organization that has led the way in making major advancements in law enforcement through innovation, use of technology and perseverance of purpose to "make it better" for law enforcement, the citizens and the community within Miami-Dade County. The MDCACP has a dinner meeting each month hosted by a different police agency in which the Officer of the Month Award is presented. The month of May is the Miami Beach Police Department's turn to host this prestigious event and will also include the installation of the organization's new president and executive board. This event is on Wednesday, May 19 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel located at 1601 Collins Ave. There is a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Tricia Reeder in the Chiefs Office at extension 5010 by May 12.
