We never anticipated that routing our changes through the County's bureaucracy would take as long as it did. Also, I would hate to penalize the recipients receiving the services under the programs provided by the County (at that location) because of inter agency squabbling. Anna: Please make sure we get the rent retroactive rent /CAM. Thanks MIAMIBEACH Raul J. I agreed to have the City sign first because County staff said they can only put the agreement on the BCC agenda if the agreement is signed by the other party first. When the final draft was approved by County Legal, it was sent to my office for routing. We sent it to our Legal for form approval and Legal took it to the Clerk for execution (I suspect this was done in the interest of time, but realize it should have come back to us and we should have routed it through your office). Bob, We are aware of the motion that was passed, but have a commitment from the County that retroactive rent /CAM will be paid as soon as the contract is signed. CAC has been a tenant in the same building for over 20 years and we have every reason to believe that the failure to complete the contract and pay the rent is due to red tape and recent increased bureaucratic issues at the County. Amendment: 1) Agencies that do not execute the lease within 90 days cannot occupy the building. 2) Send notes reminding when CAM payments are due. End Vice -Mayor Diaz is concerned about those agencies that have not executed the lease and asked the Administration if the City is committed to remove them from the facility if they do not execute the lease. Hilda Fernandez, Assistant City Manager, explained that these agencies have indicated that they have no reason to believe that the lease will not be approved, but the delay is the internal process that they have to go through. Vice-Mayor Diaz y a offered an amendment to motion to include that all non - profit agencies that do not execute the lease can no longer occupy space at the 6th Street Community Center within 90 days. Commissioner L ibbin accepted the amendment. Commissioner Gross explained the item for public interest and clarified that the charge for not - for - profit organizations in City buildings is not rent, but to cover the costs that the City incurs.
