During the 2 -2011 school year, our After School Program, which operates Monday to Friday, from 2 -6
pm, had. an average of 1154 participants enrolled quarterly, up from the previous year when we averaged
1,061, quarterly participants. Our After Schoolchildren receive homework assistance, partake in physical
fitness and various games to keep healthy and fit, and also participate in many other enrichment and
social activities. The children are provided with free transportation from Biscayne, Treasure Island, South
Pointe, Fienberg Fisher and North Beach Elementary Schools, along with Nautilus Middle School. The
City provided 85% of the quarterly participants (985) with full.or partial scholarships, or sibling discounts.
Currently we have 1,085 participants enrolled in our 2011 Fall After School Program.
This summer, our camps serviced 2;538 campers. Among the many activities, campers enjoyed
swimming, ice- skating and, of course, their yearly participation in the Playground Revue. Of these
participants, 1,400 were day campers, 77 of which (1,078) received full or partial scholarships. The
other 1,138 children registered for one or more of our 24 different specialty camps offered, including Fine
Arts & Acrylics, Beach Bum, Kayak, Aquatic Life /Nature, Fishing, Tennis and all sports, just to name a
