'.SUBJECT: Miami Beach Police. Department — Captain's Neighborhood Walks
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform you a new initiative being
implemented by the Miami Beach Police Department.
As part of the efforts to reinforce accountability and effectiveness, Assistant Chief Ray
Martinez has established District Captains (North, Middle, South), which will be
responsible for managing all available resources and for addressing all public safety
concerns within their area.
Captain's Neighborhood Walks are being scheduled in coordination with homeowner
associations', business owners and local residents in order to strengthen police -
community relations, as well as establish a proactive approach to identifying trends and
needs within the different districts of our City.
The following. are the neighborhood walks that have been scheduled to date:
