SUBJECT: Status Up -Date of the Fisher Park Playground and Shade Structure
Project
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is intended to provide you with a status update
on the Fisher Park Playground and.Shade Structure Project.
The Fisher Park playground and shade structure project is part of the adopted 2011-
2015 Capital Budget & 5 -year Capital Improvement Plan. The project includes the
construction of the new playground area, and the installation of a shade system
requested by nearby parents.
The Parks and Recreation Department is in receipt of all required approvals and is ready
to proceed with the demolition of the existing equipment beginning on November 14,
2011. The site work and installation of the new equipment and shade structure is
expected to take approximately ninety (90) workdays to complete, with reopening
tentatively scheduled for the middle to the end of January 2012. We are providing
notices to our neighborhood residents of the temporary closure.
Rhonda Gracie, Landscape Projects Coordinator with the Greenspace Management
Division of Parks and Recreation Department, will act as the Project Manager during the
completion of this project.
