November 29, 2011 Members Present: Keren Bajaroff, Karen Rivo, Sofia Emuriel, Kay Coulture, Pat Kaine, Ivette Borello, Beverly 'Heller, Becky Cohen, Dakshesh Bhatt, Waldy Blanco, Maria Hosu, Tiffany Heckler, and Heidi Tandy Members Absent: Sheila Duffy - Lehrman and Nizia Motola, Motion Made By Pat Kaine - Motion Second By: Beverly Heller Motion Text: The QEC requests the Mayor and Commission fully support the FDOT 41 Street Traffic Study and support FDOT recommended options below: • 'Install cross walk and sawtooth yield markings, pedestrian push button and yellow enhancer /flasher to warn vehicles of children crossing the road • Install full pedestrian midblock red light signal with push button, cross walk and stop bar markings that is coordinated with the - other signal The QEC. does NOT support the option below: • Installing pedestrian crossing signs on both sides of SR -112 to prohibit - children from crossing The QEC urges for,the Mayor to support the above FDOT recommended options for 41 Street. Motion ' Passage: Votes 12-0 Motion Made By: Beverly Heller . Motion Second By: Pat Kaine Motion Text: The QEC requests the City of Miami Beach Mayor and Commission be involved, knowledgeable, and supportive of sustaining the International Baccalaureate Programs at all City of Miami Beach public schools and should strongly urge, through resolution, the MDCPS Public Schools and the state legislature fully fund the International Baccalaureate Programs. The QEC urges for the Mayor to support the above request to- MDCPS and the state legislature sustain the International Baccalaureate at all City of Miami Beach public schools.
