SUBJECT: Parks & Recreation Summer Registration
The purpose of this Letter To Commission is to inform you of our summer camp registration dates and
process available to our residents.
Day Camp Registration for only Miami Beach Residents began March 5, 2012. Only Residents will
have the opportunity to register Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am - 7:30 pm. After
March 9, registration is scheduled until 5:30 pm. Registration locations include the actual camp
locations, or 2100 Washington Avenue, Flamingo Park, North Shore Park & Scott Rakow Youth
Center.
Specialty Camp Registration for only Miami Beach Residents will begin March 26. Registration
locations include the actual specialty camp location, or multiple registrations at 2100 Washington
Avenue.
All Camp Registration for Non - residents will begin April 23, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to
5:30 pm at either the actual camp location, or multiple registrations at 2100 Washington Avenue.
On -line registration is also available at www.miamibeachparks.com
All Day Camps will run from Monday, June 11 to Friday, August 3. Day camps, offered at five of our
recreation facilities, will provide children from tots to teens an organized and supervised schedule of
activities that range from ice - skating to the coolest field trips in South Florida. The camp will run from
9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The fee for these 10 weeks of fun is $525 for Miami Beach residents and $775 for
non- residents (includes activity fee); however, fee reductions and /or waivers are available for qualified
Miami Beach residents (mandatory activity fee of $75 must be paid by all).
Our one- to two -week Specialty Camp series, focusing on specific interests, will provide an
opportunity for kids to pursue a hobby, develop a craft or learn something new. Some of these camps
include fishing, golf, baseball, dance, video production, kayak and Jr. Lifeguard, just to name a few.
Specialty Camp times and fees vary; however, scholarships for Miami Beach residents are limited to a
one time usage, based on availability.
All facilities will also provide a "mini- camp" from August 6 - August 17.
