SUBJECT: Miami-Dade Association of Chiefs of Police Dinner
This LTC is to extend an invitation to the Mayor and City Commission to attend the Miami-
Dade Association of Chiefs of Police dinner being hosted by the Miami Beach Police
Department. The Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police (MDCACP) was
founded in 1927 and has a proud eighty-one year history of being the organization that has
led the way in making major advancements in law enforcement through innovation, use of
technology and perseverance of purpose to"make it better"for law enforcement,the citizens
and the community within Miami-Dade County.
The MDCACP has a dinner meeting each month hosted by a different police agency in
which the Officer of the Month Award is presented. The month of May is the Miami Beach
Police Department's turn to host this prestigious event and will also include the installation of
Deputy Chief Mark Overton as the organization's new president.
This event is on Thursday, May 17 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Hall A, Room
101-105. There is a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. and dinner is at 7:30 p.m. If you would like to
attend, please RSVP to Tricia Reeder in the Chief's Office at extension 5010 by May 14.
