A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING TO CONSIDER A REQUEST FOR A REVOCABLE PERMIT
FROM SIGNATURE RESORTS, INC. (d/b/a SUNTERRA RESORTS), FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF WALKWAYS, FENCES AND LANDSCAPING,
ADJACENT TO ITS PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3611 COLLINS AVENUE,
AND WITHIN THE CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY, AT THE STREET END ON
36TH STREET.
WHEREAS, Signature Resorts, Inc.(d/b/a Sunterra Resorts) owns the property located
at 3611 Collins Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Signature Resorts, Inc. has applied for a revocable permit to install a
concrete sidewalk, paver rampway, low masonry wall, low wood fence and irrigated landscaping,
adjacent to its property and within the City right-of-way, at the street end on 36th Street; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Chapter 82, Article III,
Division 2, Section 82-93, the Mayor and City Commission are required to hold a public hearing
to consider the aforestated request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a public hearing to
consider a request by Signature Resorts, Inc. (d/b/a Sunterra Resorts), as the owner of the property
located at 3611 Collins Avenue, for a revocable permit to install a concrete sidewalk, paver
rampway, low masonry wall, low wood fence and irrigated landscaping within the City right-of-way,
at the street end on 36th Street, Miami Beach, Florida, is hereby called to be held before the Mayor
and City Commission in their Chambers on the Third Floor of City Hall, 1700 Convention Center
Drive, Miami Beach, Florida on January 6, 1999 beginning atl..;,OO p.rn, and the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and directed to publish appropriate Public Notice of the said Public Hearing in
a newspaper of Miami Beach, at which time and place all interested parties will be heard.

A RESOL ION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING TO CONSIDER THE REVOCABLE PERMIT REQUEST BY
SIGNATURE RESORTS INC. (d/b/a SUNTERRA RESORTS) FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF WALKWAYS, FENCES AND LANDSCAPING,
ADJACENT TO THEIR PROPERTY AND WITHIN CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY,
AT THE STREET END OF 36TH STREET.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
To adopt the Resolution setting a date and time for a public hearing.
BACKGROUND:
Signature Resorts Inc. (d/b/a Sunterra Resorts), owners of the multi-family residential property
located at 3611 Collins Avenue, have completed the application requirements for a revocable permit.
The applicant requests permission to install a concrete sidewalk, paver rampway, low masonry wall,
low wood fence and irrigated landscaping at the streetend, within City right-of-way and adjacent to
their property, as shown in Exhibit "A".
ANALYSIS:
Pursuant to the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Chapter 82, Article III, Division 2, Section 82-92
for Revocable Permits, the applicant has properly submitted the application requirements and fee,
and has included a list of surrounding property owners who need to be notified of the scheduled
public hearing. The City Commission is required to schedule a public hearing, allowing a fifteen
day notice to the property owners within 375 feet of the permit site, to discuss and consider the
revocable permit request. The permit covers an area 14 feet wide by 88 feet long, or 1,232 square
feet. at the easternmost end of 36th Street, along the north side of the right-of-way.
CONCLUSION:
The City Commission should set a time and date for a public hearing to discuss and consider the
revocable permit application request.
