SUBJECT: CityVision (August/September) #46 Now Airing on MBTV
As part of Miami Beach's ongoing efforts to provide information about the City to the
community, we are now airing the latest edition of "CityVision." The 30-minute news
magazine show is produced by the Office of Communications to illustrate the City's
progress in meeting the goals of its Strategic Plan and to provide information to viewers
on current events, programs and services that affect them.
The August/September 2012 program, shot at the newly renovated Historic Fire Station
No. 2, features the following news segments:
• The importance of emergency preparedness with Fire Chief Javier Otero;
• Recent plan approval improvements at the Building Department;
• Community survey results and how the results are used to continue to improve
the community and services; and,
• The groundbreaking of the anticipated Abel Holtz Tennis Center at Flamingo
Park and how the Office of Capital Improvement Projects will carry out the
phases of the project through completion.
Other news stories include the Parks & Recreation Department's new "10,000 Steps to
Health" program; artwork created by Miami Beach children with the legendary nature
artist Wyland; and Miami Beach High School's 40-year-old music program, Rock
Ensemble, through the eyes of retired teacher and founder Doug Burris.
"CityVision" is seen on MBTV Atlantic Broadband Channel 77, AT&T U-verse Channel
99, www.miamibeachfl.qov, and on www.YouTube.com/citVofmiamibeach.
