SUBJECT: HIBISCUS ISLAND NEIGHBORH OD PROJECT UPDATE
The purpose of this LTC is to provide you with an update on the Hibiscus Island
neighborhood right of way and utilities undergrounding project. The scope of the project
includes street resurfacing, pavement marking including multi - purpose land, repair
and /or extension of existing sidewalks as applicable, improved storm water drainage
collection and disposal infrastructure including swale restoration and valley gutters,
enhanced landscaping, street signage, streetlight upgrades, replacement of existing .
! water main infrastructure, and sanitary sewer lining and repair. Additionally, the
overhead utilities (Florida Power and Light, Atlantic Broad Band and AT &T) will be
undergrounded.
k On October 24, 2012 the Commission approved the Request for Qualifications. Final
Design Criteria Documents have been reviewed and received approval from Public
Works, Parks & Recreation, and Planning Department.
Currently, the staff attorney is finalizing the Progressive Design Build contract to be
included in the RFQ. This is the first project in which the city is engaging in the
Progressive Design Build process. This process provides for a number of check points
i and oversight throughout the progress of the project as well as providing the City greater
flexibility.
We anticipate the contract being released by legal in the next two weeks at which point
we will expedite its. advertisement.
