SUBJECT: PARKS & RECREATIONAL FTIES AD VISORY BOARD MOTIONS
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you that the Parks and Recreational Facilities
Advisory Board passed two (2) motions at their meeting held on May 1, 2013.
1. Capital Reserve to Maintain Tennis Facilities/Courts.
The Board recognizes the need to constantly maintain the Tennis Courts at Flamingo Park &
NSPYC.
MOTION: The Parks & Recreational Facilities Board unanimously requests that the
Administration establish a Capital Reserve Fund to maintain the Flamingo Park and NSPYC
Tennis Facility/Courts to meet Manufacturer-s Standards and secondly that these funds be
incrementally allocated on an annual basis for such needs.
Members Present: Meryl Wolfson, Harriet Halpryn, Leslie Graff, Kim Brown and Jonathan Groff.

2. Allocate Funds to Scarify/Refurbish the Tennis Courts at NSPYC.
The Board recognizes that the Tennis Courts at NSPYC are in dire need to be refurbished and
scarified.
MOTION: The Parks & Recreational Facilities Board unanimously requests that the
Administration identify and allocate funds to scarify/refurbish the courts at NSPYC Tennis
Facility prior to the end of the fiscal year. Since the opening of the NSPYC Tennis Courts in
2004, the courts have not been redone. It is imperative that the funds be allocated at the
earliest opportunity.
