SUBJECT: Resilient Miami Beach: A Die Dutch Sem inar
This Letter to Commission is provided to invite you to the upcoming free seminar "Resilient
Miami Beach: A Dialogue with the Dutch," which will take place in the Commission Chambers
on Wednesday, September 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The day -long seminar will bring together experts from southeast Florida, including City staff and
representatives from the University of Miami School of Marine & Atmospheric Science, Florida
Atlantic University, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands to engage in multi - disciplinary
discussions. The program is designed to explore if, where and how the Dutch approaches to
water management, landscape architecture, flood protection, and urban design are relevant in
making the City of Miami Beach more resilient.
The seminar is free and open to the public. The dialogue format will allow for formal
presentations as well as informal discussions where audience participation will be encouraged.
