RESOLUTION NO. 13 -8687
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO SUPPORT THE
"GOLDEN VETERANS PARADE" - NOVEMBER 8, 2013,
COMMEMORATION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF
THE VIETNAM WAR, WELCOMING HOME AND
REMEMBERING VIETNAM VETERANS; PROVIDING
FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Vietnam War Commemoration is conducted in accordance with the
2008 National Defense Authorization Act to help honor and pay tribute to Vietnam Veterans;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa -locka desires to support the
November 8, 2013, Parade in Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section I . The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa- locks, declares its support for the
"Golden Veterans Parade" - November 8, 2013, Parade Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of
the Vietnam War, and honoring and welcoming home the veterans of that war.
Section 3. The Clerk is authorized to distribute a copy of this resolution to the
Florida League of Cities, and to local municipalities and Miami -Dade County, to encourage their
participation of the November 8, 2013 Parade in Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the
Vietnam War.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25` day of September 2013.
