Our performances offer a variety of traditional Latin American & Spanish dance and music productions, with a goal to offer economically disadvantaged Miami-Dade County students (Title 1) free admission to the same at the Fillmore. Students will witness a dazzling display of traditional and contemporary dance, costume, and music from Hispanic nations of the Caribbean, Central and South America, as well as Spain. Our professional performers and corporate office represent great cultural diversity both on and off the stage. Our outreach in culturally diverse human capital includes our group of touring professional musicians and performers, recruited via international casting calls, many from City of Miami Beach Sister Cities and ultimately representing 6 Central and South American countries, as well as Spain. We are partnering with Miami-Dade County Public School Board and its Office of Community Engagement for the execution of these productions, and confirmation of Title participating schools. We are also partnering with the Human Rights Campaign Foundation to deliver a message of equality and diversity inclusion, as we celebrate the perfect 100 Municipality Equality Index of the City of Miami Beach and the upcoming Centennial Celebrations of the City of Miami Beach. On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, Hispanic Flamenco Ballet presents two educational programs http://flamencobal let.com/shows2.html designed for the K-12 Miami-Dade County students at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater: 1 st Show "Latin American Show" (9:50am-10:55am) Students will witness a dazzling display of traditional and contemporary dance, costume, and music from Hispanic nations of the Caribbean, Central and South America. They will be treated to the sights, sounds and styles of: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and many more! This show will provide students with a unique opportunity to not only observe and understand the distinctions between dances, but will also provide a comprehensive survey of Latin American cultures as seen through the performing arts. In addition to the live music and dance extravaganza, this show features Argentinian Boleadoras and an interactive grand finale. 2nd Show "Spanish Flamenco" (11 :15am-12:20pm) 6of11 The students will also be treated to live classical guitarists performing a variety of traditional Spanish music between dances. This show will conclude with the artists inviting the audience to participate in this great cultural event by joining them on stage to dance the "Macarena". Picture yourself being transported to Andalusia, Spain, sitting in a rustic "Cantina" viewing an authentic, intense and passionate performance of Tablao Flamenco, a colorful Zarzuela (Spanish operetta), La Jota, La Tuna troubadours (a group of traveling minstrels adorned in colorful attire), in addition to a variety of other folkloric dance and music from Spain. On Saturday, February 7, 2015, our final performance "Tablao Flamenco" (7:00pm- 8:00pm) designed and choreographed for the non-student demographic of Miami-Dade County, specifically produced for the adults and senior citizens of our community to attend a fusion of the two earlier shows, including Tablao Flamenco: Solea, Bulerias and Rumba, at the North Shore Bandshell. EVALUATION: Objective a: Title I and other poverty level students will be extended an invitation to attend, as well as senior citizens within our community, creating a multigenerational and cultural learning experience, while providing access to a local world-class venue. Objective b: A minimum of one thousand two hundred and fifty individuals will attend our two shows at no charge. ACTIVITY Hispanic Flamenco Ballet will research Miami-Dade County K-12 schools and senior centers. Then, we will identify, and extend invitations to those that qualify for the free attendance. This will be accomplished by direct contact (telephone) and email campaigns, as well as working with Miami-Dade County Public School Board representatives. We will allocate a minimum of 1 ,250 seats for our performances in Miami-Dade county to qualified Title I and other economically disadvantaged students, as well as seniors in the community. Verification of their Title I status will be required prior to approval and reservation. Data will be collected reflecting the socioeconomic background and number of students in attendance to each show, as well as the number of attending senior citizens. This will be achieved by utilizing our proprietary software as well as personal inquiries, surveys, and emails and performance date/venue sampling. A log of invitations will be administered, broken down by city, school and/or district, senior center, and the number of individuals invited and/or attended. All Title I and poverty level students attending will be accounted for by city, school, and in total. In the final analysis, attendance will reflect an overall increase from lower socioeconomic levels. 7 of 11 Project description as revised (if applicable) based upon the City Commission approved award: Changes to projects awarded under the Artistic Disciplines program must still adhere to the requirement that the work is new or has never before been presented in Miami Beach. On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, Hispanic Flamenco Ballet will perform two shows at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, commencing at 9:50am. Once the Early Bird reservation window ends, regular prices will be $14 for one show or $20 for both performances. Two weeks before our shows on February 4th, if any seats remain available, we will create a multigenerational educational experience by inviting senior citizens of local adult day care centers, like those at JCS on Espanola Way in Miami Beach. On Saturday, February 7, 2015, Hispanic Flamenco Ballet will be performing a FREE outdoor community event at the Miami Beach Northshore Bandshell, beginning at 7pm.
