Subject: FY 2014/15 Second Quarter Status -eport on Independent Contractor Agreements
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to provide a status of the independent
contractor agreements executed pursuant to Resolutions 2014-28740 and 2014-28741, adopted
by the City Commission September 10, 2014.
Independent Contractor Agreements in Lieu of Filling Vacant Budgeted Positions
Resolution 2014-28740 authorizes the City Manager to enter into independent contractor
agreements for professional and other services or work related to vacant budgeted positions, for
a fee not to exceed the maximum of the pay range for the respective classification.
Since the adoption of Resolution 2014-28740 on September 10, 2014, the City has not entered
into any agreements pursuant to this authority that exceed $25,000.
Independent Contractor Agreements for Other Services
Resolution 2014-28741 authorizes the City Manager to enter into independent contractor
agreements for a number of services and for a fee not to exceed the amount budgeted for such
services in the City's approved Fiscal Year. (FY) 2014/2015 budget and requires that the
Manager report quarterly.on those agreements that exceed $25,000.
Since the adoption of Resolution 2014-28741 on September 10, 2014, the City has entered into
one agreement pursuant to this authority:
• Advanced analytical, technical, and administrative work in the preparation and management
of solicitations for the acquisitions of goods, materials, equipment, and contractual services
for the Procurement Department (Marcelo Cam), $50,000.
