2015-29019 Reso RESOLUTION NO. 2015-29019 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE FINANCE AND CITYWIDE PROJECTS COMMITTEE TO HAVE THE ADMINISTRATION AND CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE EXPLORE A POTENTIAL PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP WITH TERRANOVA CORPORATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PARKING GARAGE ON 42ND STREET AND JEFFERSON AVENUE, AND REPORT BACK TO THE COMMITTEE. WHEREAS, on November 19, 2014, the Mayor and Commission approved a referral item requested by Commissioner Weithorn, for a discussion regarding a public-private partnership for a two-story parking garage to be erected over both Municipal Parking Lot No. P62, located at 836 42nd Street, and a private parking lot, located at 830 42nd Street (between Jefferson and Meridian Avenues); and WHEREAS, on April 8, 2015, the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee (FCWPC) recommended that the Administration and City Attorney's Office meet with Terranova Corporation and explore a public-private partnership for the development of a parking garage on Municipal Parking Lot No, P62, located on 42nd Street and Jefferson Avenue and the adjacent private parking lot; and WHEREAS, the Administration will conduct said analysis and provide its findings to the Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby accept the recommendation of the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee to have the Administration and City Attorney's Office explore a potential public- private partnership with Terranova Corporation for the development of a parking garage on 42nd Street and Jefferson Avenue and report back to the Committee.
