Subject: VETERAN'S DAY - Sunday November 11, 2001
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission is to provide the Mayor and Commission
with an update regarding the logistics for the Veteran's Day events, specifically the
Veteran's Day Parade and the free benefit concert featuring *NSYNC.
Veteran's Day Parade:
The City's traditional Veterans Day Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will run on
Washington Avenue from 17th to 11th streets, concluding at 10:30 am at the Police
Station, 1100 Washington Avenue. A wreath-laying ceremony will commence at 10:30
a.m. and will conclude promptly at 11 :00 a.m. For those Commissioners participating in
the parade, you will be asked to meet at Convention Center Drive at 9:00 a.m., where
the convertible caravan will transport you down Washington Avenue to the Ceremony
and return you to City Hall following.
*NSYNC Concert:
Entrance to the VIP reserved section will be on 8th Street and open at noon on Sunday,
November 11, 2001. The Concert will begin at 4:00 p.m. and you will be asked to join
the Mayor, City Manager and Police and Fire Chiefs on stage promptly at 4:30 p.m., at
which time the Pledge of Allegiance, God Bless America and the Mayor will briefly
welcome the pUblic and thank the artists on behalf of the City of Miami Beach.

VIP Parking for the Mayor and Commissioners will be provided on the100 Block of 7th
Street, entering from Collins Avenue eastbound to Ocean Drive. The Police attendant
will have your names listed for access purposes
Enclosed you will find two (2) VIP Hospitality Laminated Passes to the Motorola VIP tent
for the *NSYNC concert. Entrance to this VIP reserved section will also be on 8th Street
and open at noon on Sunday, November 11, 2001.
