Miami-Dade County Resolution No. R-532-16 20f6 - 293 .3 Approved Mayor Agenda Item No. 3(A)(1) Veto 6-21-16 Override RESOLUTION NO. R-532-16 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PREVIOUS CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CODESIGNATION OF THAT PORTION OF 21ST STREET BETWEEN WASHINGTON AVENUE AND COLLINS AVENUE AS "JOSE MARTI STREET", IN ADDITION TO "COLLINS PARK SOUTH" WHEREAS, on July 13, 1994, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach (the "City") adopted Resolution No. 94-21216 codesignating that portion of 21st Street between Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue as"Jose Marti Street"; and WHEREAS, on November 19, 2014, the City Mayor and City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2014-28837 codesignating that portion of 21st Street between Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue as "Collins Park South" and also codesignating that portion of 22nd Street between Washington Court and Collins Avenue as"Collins Park North"; and WHEREAS, on February 18, 2015, this Board adopted Resolution No. R-163-15 approving the City's codesignation of 21st Street between Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue as "Collins Park South" and approving the City's codesignation of 22nd Street between Washington Court and Collins Avenue as"Collins Park North"; and WHEREAS, in preparing new signage for that portion of 21 st Street between Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue to include both the previous "Jose Marti Street" codesignation and the new "Collins Park South" codesignation, County staff was not able to locate a Board resolution approving the"Jose Marti Street"codesignation; and 27 Agenda Item No. 3(A)(1) Page No. 2 WHEREAS, accordingly, prior to new signage being installed including both codesignations, this Board now desires to approve the City's previous codesignation of that portion of 21st Street between Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue as "Jose Marti Street"; and WHEREAS, the City would like the County to install signage indicating both of these codesignations on County street signs and traffic signal masts arms; and WHEREAS, 21st Street between Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue is a city street located in the City of Miami Beach; and WHEREAS,these codesignations are located in County Commission District 5, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY,FLORIDA,that this Board: Section 1. Approves the previous City of Miami Beach codesignation of that portion of 21st Street between Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue as "Jose Marti Street", in addition to "Collins Park South"that was approved by the Board in Resolution No. R-163-15. Section 2. Directs the Clerk of the Board to send certified copies of this Resolution to the Mayor, City Council and City Manager of the City of Miami Beach, the United States Postal Service,the Traffic Signals and Signs Division of the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works, the Development Services Division of the Regulatory and Economic Resources Department, the Miami Beach Police Department and the Miami Beach Fire Department. 4 Agenda Item No. 3(A)(1) Page No. 3 The Prime Sponsor of the foregoing resolution is Commissioner Bruno A. Barreiro. It was offered by Commissioner Esteban L. Bovo,Jr. ,who moved its adoption.
