A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ACCEPT
DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS FROM URBAN RESOURCE INC., THE
COCA-COLA COMPANY, SHAKE SHACK INC., T-MOBILE, MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY, BARNANA, KRAVE PURE FOODS, INC., EXHALE
ENTERPRISES, INC., AND THE LAW OFFICES OF AARON RESNICK, P.A.,
IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $12,600, FOR THE 2016 ANNUAL FAMILY
SERVICE DAY, THE 2016 HISPANIC HERITAGE FESTIVAL, THE
OCTOBER 9, 2016 CICLOVIA EVENT, AND THE SOCCER UNIFORMS FOR
THE CITY'S PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S TRAVEL
SOCCER ATHLETIC LEAGUE; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO MAKE SUCH EXPENDITURES AND/OR
REIMBURSEMENTS CONSISTENT WITH THE AFORESTATED EVENTS
AND PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach hosts an annual Family Service Day and an annual
Hispanic Heritage Festival, an annual October Ciclovia event, and further supports the City's
Parks and Recreation Department's Travel Soccer Athletic League for youths; and
WHEREAS, these events bring hundreds of volunteers together to engage the
community in projects that provide free outdoor entertainment and promote the sport of
recycling, the enhancement of local parks, the celebration of Hispanic culture, and an active and
healthy lifestyle; and
WHEREAS, City staff has worked diligently to identify funding sources to off-set the costs
of producing these events, and of athletic uniforms for the Travel Soccer Athletic League, and
has secured partnerships through sponsorships at varying levels of support from the Urban
Resource Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, Shake Shack Inc., T-Mobile, Miami-Dade County,
Barnana, Krave Pure Foods, Inc., Exhale Enterprises, Inc., and the Law Offices Of Aaron
Resnick, P.A. (collectively, Sponsors); and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the acceptance of sponsorships from the
above-referenced Sponsors, in the total amount of $12,600, to cover the costs of the annual
Family Service Day, the annual Hispanic Heritage Festival, the October 9, 2016 Ciclovia event,
and the uniforms for the Parks and Recreation Department's Travel Soccer Athletic League; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City Commission authorize the
City Manager, or his designee, to make any necessary reimbursements and/or expenditures of
the aforestated donations, in furtherance of, and consistent with, the aforestated events and
purposes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby authorize the City to accept donations and sponsorships from Urban
Resource Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, Shake Shack Inc., T-Mobile, Miami-Dade County,
Barnana, Krave Pure Foods, Inc., Exhale Enterprises Inc., And The Law Offices Of Aaron
Resnick, P.A., in the total amount of $12,600, for the 2016 annual Family Service Day, the 2016
Hispanic Heritage Festival, the October 9, 2016 Ciclovla event, and the soccer uniforms for the
City's Parks and Recreation Department's Travel Soccer Athletic League; and further authorize
the City Manager, or his designee, to make such expenditures and/or reimbursements
consistent with the aforestated events and purposes.

Adopt the resolution.
ANALYSIS
Each year the City of Miami Beach hosts various events and programs throughout the City.
These events engage and educate the community and offer an opportunity to give back.
The City will be hosting the annual Family Service Day on September 24, 2016. This event will
bring hundreds of volunteers together to engage the community in projects that promote
recycling and enhance local parks, which offer free outdoor entertainment to our citizens. This
event is open to the general public at no charge.
The City also hosts an annual Hispanic Heritage Festival on October 7, 2016. This popular
event celebrates Hispanic culture and offers music, dance, rides and more. This event is open
to the general public at no charge.
The City also hosts regular Ciclovia events to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. This
event transforms Washington Avenue into an urban park encouraging attendees to walk, bike,
run or skate while enjoying a variety of activities and entertainment. This event is open to the
general public at no charge.

The City also supports the Parks and Recreation Athletic Leagues. The City has secured a
sponsorship for their Travel Soccer Athletic League uniforms.
CONCLUSION
Staff worked diligently to identify funding sources to off-set the costs of producing these
programs. The Administration recommends the adoption of the attached Resolution authorizing
the donations and sponsorships from Urban Resource Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, Shake
Shack Inc., T-Mobile, Miami-Dade County, Barnana, Krave Pure Foods, Inc., Exhale Enterprises,
Inc., And The Law Offices Of Aaron Resnick, P.A., in the total amount of $12,600 for the 2016
annual Family Service Day, the 2016 Hispanic Heritage Festival, the October 9, 2016 Ciclovia
event, and soccer uniforms for the City's Parks and Recreation Department's Travel Soccer
Athletic League; and further authorizing in connection with the City Manager, or his designee, to
make such expenditures and/or reimbursements consistent with the aforestated events and
purposes.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
The multiple sponsors, stated above, are providing a total of $12,600 in sponsorship
contributions to offset the costs for the various events and programs stated above.
