TheMiami-DadeCountyElectionsDepartmenthasacknowledgedreceiptoftheCity'sResolution
withdrawing theStrawBallotQuestion regarding alcoholregulationsforOcean Drivebetween 5th - 15th
Streets. TheElectionsDepartmentwillbeplacingtheattachednoticeatallEarlyVotingsites, inall
MiamiBeachprecinctsonElectionDay, andincludedwithallfutureVote-by-MailBallotsprocessedfor
MiamiBeachvoters, informingMiamiBeachvotersthattheStrawBallotQuestionhasbeenwithdrawn
andalthoughtheStrawBallotQuestionwillappearontheballotavotecastontheQuestionwillnot
count.
EventhoughtheresultsforthewithdrawnStrawBallotQuestionwillnotbereleasedwiththeOfficial
Results, theywillbeavailableafterElectionnighttotheCityandthepublicasapublicrecord, sincethe
QuestionwasnotremovedbytheAugust30, 2016deadline. Tothatend, anyvotescastforthe
withdrawnStrawBallotQuestionwillnotbedisplayedontheonlineElectionNightresultswebpage.
Once theOfficialResults arecertified,
the Office of
theCity Clerk willreceive: (
a) theOfficialResultsfor
theactiveballotcontentatthetimeoftheelectionand (b) aSupplementalReportwithallCityballot
contents (includinganyvotescastfortheStrawBallotQuestion).
