Dear Honorable Mayor and City Commission:
On March 13th, the Transportation, Parking & Bicycle -Pedestrian Facilities
Committee (TPBPFC) met and unanimously passed the below motions:
Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety
The TPBPFC recommends outlining bicycle laws in the MB Magazine — a full page
in English/Spanish, emphasizing to pay attention as these laws will be enforced.
Also, at intersections in bike lanes, place a bicycle specific stop sign in lane.
Safe Walking Zones
The TPBPFC recommends that in the spirit of the Miami Dade County Safe
Streets Program, the City should require safe zones in all areas under
construction so that pedestrians will have a safe route to walk when sidewalks
are temporarily closed for construction purposes.
As an advisory Committee, we would greatly appreciate your consideration on
these motions.
Sincerely,
Transportation, Parking & Bicycle -Pedestrian Facilities Committee
