SUBJECT: MDCACP DINNER HOSTED BY TH! MBPD ON MAY 17, 2017
This Letter to the Mayor and City Commission is to extend an invitation to the Mayor and City
Commission to attend the Miami -Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police (MDCACP) dinner
being hosted by the Miami Beach Police Department. The MDCACP was founded in 1927 and
has a proud ninety year history of being the organization that has led the way in making major
advancements in law enforcement through innovation, use of technology and perseverance of
purpose to "make it better" for law enforcement, the citizens and the community within Miami -
Dade County.
The MDCACP has a dinner meeting each month hosted by a different police agency in which the
Officer of the Month Award is presented. The month of May is the Miami Beach Police
Department's turn to host this prestigious event.
This event is being held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the New World Symphony, 500 17th
Street. There is a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. and dinner is at 7:30 p.m.
