The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to announce that the City's Communication
Department has received a Silver American Advertising Award (ADDY) from the American
Advertising Federation (AAF) for the Summer 2016 MB Magazine cover photo, which promotes
the City's dog friendly areas.
The American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, is the advertising industry's largest and
most representative competition. The ADDYs attract over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF
Club competitions. These awards are very competitive and include entries from many well
respected agencies. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to
recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is
the first of a three -tier, national competition. The City's entry will be moving on to the second tier
where local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district
competitions.
