been upgrading the existing irrigation system and replacing trees, palms, shrubs and
groundcover throughout the South of Fifth Street Neighborhood. The Project Limits include

Streets between Washington Avenue and Ocean Drive, and a portion of South Pointe Drive.
Damaged trees and palms or those in poor condition will be replaced with the same species.
Additional palms will also be installed. Crews are currently removing palms along Collins
Avenue and Ocean Drive and will commence their replacement this week. The crews will then
move to 1st and 4th Streets between Washington Avenue and Ocean Drive. Landscaping on 2nd
Street has been completed. All palms and trees will be tagged prior to their removal. The
installation of shrubs and groundcover will follow the tree replacements. Once the palms and
trees are planted, irrigation canisters and bonded aggregate will be installed within the tree pits.
The work is expected to be completed within the next 60 to 90 days.
A Construction Update was issued to the stakeholders on April 5th and will be periodically
