RE TING THE STORAGE OF DYNAT�1ITE, T,TITROCLYCERINE.
GIANT POWDER OR OTHM EXPLOSIVES AND GUN POI-MER, and
PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOP. THE VIOLATION OF THIS
ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TILT City Council of the City of Yliami Beach,
Florida, as follows;
la It shall be unlawful for any person to store or keep any
dynamite, nitro-glycerine, giant powder or other explosives,
other than gunpowder in any storeroom, wareroom, or building
within the city limits without first obtaining permit from Chief
of the Fire Dei-artment,
2. It shall be unlawful for any person to store or keep any
explosives in excess of one pound in any storeroom, wareroom,
building, or on any premises within the city, providing that not
more than five (5) pounds of gunpowder may be kept in closed metal
canisters in a store or wareroom away from artificial heat or
light , and providing further that not more than fifty (50) pounds
of gunpowder may be kept if in a magazine made of fireproof mater-
ial or of wood covered with sheet iron and mounted on wheels, and a
kept securely locked except when necessarily opened for use by

authorized persons, and not more than 1,000 blasting caps in a
similar, but separate , magazine. Said magazines shall be conspieu»
ously labelled in red letters at least four (4) inches high
" EXPLOSIVES " .and located within the building, on the floor
nearest the street level and within ten (10) feet of the street
entrance.
3p Any person, firm or corporation who shall sell or store
gunpowder shall obtain a permit from the Chief of the Fire Depart-
ment,
epartment, who shall inspect the place where same is kept , and the
dealer shall fully disclose to said. Chief where same is kept both
in the day and night time,
4. All persons, firms or corporations transporting any of the
aforesaid explosives are rewired to use such methods of transpor-
tation as are approved in 4witing by the Chief of the Fire Department
of said City.

5, Each day that any of the terms of this ordinance are not
complied with shall be considered a separate and distinct offence
against said City.
U* any person, firm or corporation violating agy of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a -misdemeanor
and upon conviction shall be fined not less than Five Dollars nor
more than Twenty-five Dollars for each offence.
To All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
foregoing are hereby repealed.
8. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage*
