RPT,ATIVE 20 THE HOLDING OF SAID ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
has this day adopted its Ordinance No. 204 and Ordinance No. 205,
the titles of which are hereinafter set forth, by giving each of
them its third reading in full and by the unanimous, affirmative
vote of said City Council taken upon a call of the roll, which Ordi-
nances, before they become effective as a law, must have been ap-
proved by a majority of the qualified voters of the city of Miani
Beach, Florida, voting at an election held for that purpose:
NOW, BE IT ORDAINED by the city Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida:
Section 1. That a special election is hereby called and di-
rected to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
from eight o'clock A. M., until sundown, on the 20th day of May, A.D.
1924, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the qualified voters
of the City of Miami Beach, Flcrida, voting at said election, the ques-
tion whether 0-r.inance No. 204, adopted by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, April 9th, 1924, and entitled: "AIT OR-

Section 2. That the city clerk, who is also Supervisor of xe-
gistration, oven the registration books of said city for such election
from ten o'clock A. L., until five o'clock P. M., each day Sunday ex-
cepted, from this day until and including May 10th, 1924, for the pur-
pose of recistering those persols who are qualified to register for
such election.

Section 3. That Milton H. Farr and dilliam Tomlinson and hi-rs.
Ethel Stephenson, be and they are hereby appointed Inspectors, and
James R. welly is hereby appointed Clerk for the purpose of hol(:.ing
and conducting said election at the time and place aforesaid, which
flames the said Clerk shall certify to the Mayor.
Section 4. That said Inspectors and said Clerk shall certify
the result of said election to said City Couy)cil within five days
after the holding of such election.
Section 5. That thirty days' notice of such election be given
by the 1aayor of said City, by posting the notice hereinafter Drovided
for once each week for thirty days in three conspicuous places in
said City of Miami Beach, Florida, to-wit; At the City Hall, the Post
Office and at Hardie' s Casino , and by publishing the same, once each
week, for thirty days in The Daily Tribune, a newspaper published in
the City 'of Miami 3each, Florida, and of general circulation in said
city.
Section 6. That said notice of election shall be in substan-
tially trie following form; "Notice is hereby given that an election
has been called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
and will be held at the City Hall in said Cit; on the 20th day of May,
A. D. , 1924, at which there will be Pubmitted to the qualified voters

Section 8. That it is hereby determined and declared that
the welfare of said City and the protection of the citizens thereof
require that this Ordinance be given its first , second and third
readings at this meeting, in one session of said City Council, which
three readimlgs of this Ordinance shall be had at this meeting, where-
upon the same shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and approval by the 1dayor of said City.
