Ordinance 1498 ORDINANCE NO. 1498
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 37 OF "THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
1950" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 37.3 of Chapter 37 of "The Code of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, 1950", be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 37.3 Police and Firemen to direct
traffic. It shall be the duty
of the Manager of the Metered Parking System to
enforce the provisions of Article XI of this
Chapter, and it shall be the duty of the police
department to enforce the remaining portions
of said Chapter, provided, however, that the
provisions of Sections 37.104.1 and 37.104.2
shall be enforced by both the Manager of the
Metered Parking System and the police department.
Members of the police department are hereby
authorized to direct all traffic either in
person or by means of visible or audible signal
in conformance with the provisions of this
Chapter; provided, that in the event of a fire
or other emergency and to expedite traffic or
safeguard pedestrians during such emergency,
members of the police or fire department may
direct traffic, as conditions may require,
notwithstanding the provisions of this Chapter. "
SECTION 2: All ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 : This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage and posting as required by law.

three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one
of which was at the door of the City Hall in said City on
the 20th day of November A,D. 19 63 , and that said
Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty
days in accordance with the requirements of the City
Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
