AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 845 4F
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENTITLED
"AN 4RDINANCE PR4VIDING FQR THE CREATION
AND i�lAINTENANCE OF A PENS I()N A�'D RETIREMENT
SYSTEM FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA".
BE IT 4RDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 5.Q3.02 of Ordinance Na. 84S reading
as follows:
"5.03.02 Any Employee Member who reaches the age of
seventy (70} shall be mandatorily retired
no later than the f irst day of the manth imrnediately
following the attainment of such age; provided that
upon written approval of the City Manager, in excep-
tional cases and for substantial reasons, such re-
tirement may be deferred by the Board for periods not
to ex�eed one (1) year at any one time."
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

ever, that upon the recommendation of the department
head and approval of the City Manager in exceptional
cases and for substantial reasons, such retirement
may be deferred by the Boar3 for periods not to exceed
one (1) �ear at any o�e time, u� to a maximum of
seventy (70) years o� age; provided that such Employee
Mexnber shall submit to and satisfactorily pass a phys-
ical examination by the Cit� Physician annual.ly; any
Employee �Iember who is employed subsequent to reach-
ing his sixty-fifth (65thj birthday and who shall be
mandatorily retired sha11 have no right of appeal
from the de�ision of the 8oard."

as follows:

examination by the City Physician annually, any Em-
ploy�e Member who is employed subsequent to reaching
his sixty-fifth (65th) birthday and who shall be man-
datorily retired shall haue no right of appeal from
the decision of the Board."
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
�lict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
5ECTION 4: The provisions of this �rdinance shall become
effective on the 7th day of June, 1967, pravided it
shall be approved by a majority of the qualified voters of the
Cit of Miami Beach Florida, voting on the same at an election

Ordinance No. 1642 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 845 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENTITLED ' AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A PENSION AND RETIRE-
MENT SYSTEM FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA "'
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 19th day of April, 1967
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
