"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDSNG FOR THE CREATION
AND MAINTENANCE OF A PENSYON AND RETIREMENT
SYSTEM FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES 4F THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH. FL4RIDA",
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY O�` MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDAa
SEC'�ION lo That Ordinance No. 845 be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new subsection, immed-
iately following subsec�ion 5.03.02, to be numbered and to read
as follawsa
"5.03.02.41 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary
in this ordinance all lifeguards in the
Beach Patrol who have 20 years of creditable service
will be eligible for retirement no earlier than the
first day of the month foilowing the attainment of
age fif�y (50j . Lifeguards I, Lifeguards II and
Lifeguard Sergeants shall be mandatorily retired on
the f irst day of the month following the attainment
of age f if ty-f ive � 55 ). Lif eguard Lieutenants and
Lifeguard Captains shall be mandatorily retired no
later than the f irst day of the month following the
attainment of age sixty (60). Notwithstanding any of
the provisions for extension of the mandatory age of
retirement, contained in other part5 of this ordi-
nance, the ages for mandatory retirement set forth as
to all lifeguards shall not be subject to administra-`_ _. _-
tive change."
SECTI4N 2: That Ordinance No. 845 be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new subsecti.on, immedi-
ately following subsection SA.08, to be numbered and to read as
fol lows :
"SA.08.01 Notwiihstandinq any'thing to the contrary in
this ordinan�e all lifeguards in the Beach
Patrol who have 2D years of creditable service will be
eligible for retirement no earlier than the first day
of the �nonth follawing the �ttainment of age fifty
(50). Lifegua�ds I, Lifeguards SI and Lifeguard Ser-
geants shall be mandatorily retired on t�ie first day
of the month following the attainm�nt of age fifty-
five (55) . Lifeguard Lieutenants and Lifeguard
Captains shall be mandatorily retired no later than
the tirst day of the month following the attainment
of age s ixty ( 60 ). Notwithstanding any of the provi-
sions for extension of the mandatory age of retirement
contained in other parts of this ordinance, the ages
for mandatory retirement set forth as to all life-
guards shall not be subject to administrative change.

' Provided further, that any retirement under this sub-
section shall not be subject to the actu�arial reduc-
tion for early retirement provided for in Section
5Ao03.04."
SECTION 3a That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4o The provisions of this 4rdinance shall be�ome
effective on the 7th day of June, 1967, provided it
shall be approved by a majority of the qualified voters of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, voting an the same at an election
called for that purpose. �
