��T ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 of THE
"CODE OF THE CITY OF ivl.tA�lI BE�C,Fi, FLORIDA"
BE IT ORDAZN'ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CTTY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 2 of the "�;oc1e of the City of
T�iiami Beach, Florida" be and the same is
hereby an�ended by adding new sections thereto to be
numbered and to read as �ollows:
"Sec. 2.5.1 "The Office of �ireetor of Em�loyee
Aduisory �Services is hereby created,
who shall be appointed by the City
Coux�ci 1. "
"�ec. �.5.2 His powers and c�uties shall bes
(aj To caunsel and advise employees on all
matters concerning their employment,
salaries, working conditions and assign�
ments to duty.
(b) He shall be authorized to represent any
employee, or former employee, whose services
with the City have been terminated, at the
request and with the consent of such employee,
before the Personnel Baard of the City of
lviiami Beach in those instances in which such
�mployee o��- for��:�er Employe� has the right of
appeal t�o t1�e Personne 1 Board.
(cy He is aut'horized and empowered to confer
with the particular department head or
supervisor for the purpose of inquixing
into the facts and circumstances involved
in any parti�ular situation relative to
any given employee.
{d) He is authorized and empowered to examine
all personnel records of the City for the
purpose of effectuating the intent of this
oxdinance.
ie) I3e is authorized and empowered to make
recommendations to the City Manager in
order to reach ari ectuitable solution of
the particular problem set forth by the
employee in question.
(f� He shall be authorized to appeal the
decision or determination of the �,ity
Manager to the City Council.
"Sec. 2.5.3 The ctuaiifications for said office
shall be as follows:

(a� He shall possess a suitable degree
representing not less than faurt4)
years of study at a reCognized
colieqe or university.
(b) He shall have a demonstrable record
of �:xperience in the f ie ld af labor
management.
"Sec. 2.5.4 The salary of said offi�e shall be a
minimum of $10,283.40 per ar��um, and a
maximurn of $12, 501.90 pr�� �r�v,ri�, as shall� �ie
determined by the City Council."
� SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.

� SECTI4N 3: That this ordinance shall go into effect
immediat�ely upon its passage and posting

as rec�uired by law.
