AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDIiVANCE N0. 1605
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH� FLORIDA
ESTABLISHING A COA2PENSATION PLAN FOR OFFICES
AND POSITIONS IN THE UNCLASSIFIED SERVICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C4UNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH�
FLORIDAe
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1605, being
an Ordinance of the City of Miami Beach� Florida,
establishing a compensation plan for offices and positions in the
Unclassified service be and the same is hereby amended to read as followse
"Section 1. The following shail constitute the Compensation
p�.an for the offices and positions in the Un-
classified Service which are hereby created or re-created in
accordance with the following organization plan� and a schedule
of rates of salaries effective October 1, 1969 for said offices
and pos3.tions is hereby established as fo1].ows;

SECTION 2. That Section l.l of sa3d Ordinance No. 1605 be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section lolo Any employee who, on September 30, 19b9, was
� entitled to a greater maximum rate of pay than
provided by thi.s ordinance� shall retain entitlement to such
maximum rate of pay plus an additional five per cent (5�)
thereof plus $ 22.38 bi-weekly�
SECTION 3. That PaYagraphs �a), (b), and (c) of Section 3 of
sa�d Ordinance No. 1605 be and the same are hereby
amended to read as follows:
"{a) �Jhen an employee sha1Z have completed ten years employment
he shal], be paid a sum equal to five percent (5'/0) of his
base pay in addition to the amount he is paid under Section 1
hereof.

(b� When an employee shall have compl�ted fifteen years em-
ployment, he shall be paid a sum equal to seven and
one-half percent (7�%) of his base pay in addition to the
aYnount he is paid under Section I hereof.
(c) When an employee shall have completed twenty years em-
ployment, he shall. be paid a sum equal to ten percent
(14%) of his base pay in addition to the amount he is
paid under Section 1 hereof."
SECTION 4. A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall go into effect as of
October I� 1969.
SECTION 6. The heal,th and welfare of the City being in peril,
the three readings of this ordinance shall be had
in oae session, and the Ci�y Councii finding that this ordinance
is necessary for the immediate protection of its citizens, it shall
therefore go into effect on the date hereinabove set forth.
