AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 845
BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A PENSION
AND RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 3.02 of Ordinance No. 845 be and
the same is hereby amended by adding a new
sentence at the end thereof reading as follows:
"Provided, however, that upon the effective
date of this ordinance, no person who shall
have attained the age of 55 years at the
time of his original entry into the employ
of the City shall be eligible for any
benefits provided for by this ordinance.
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3: The health and welfare of the City being in
peril, the three readings of this ordinance
shall be had in one session, and the City Council finding
that this ordinance is necessary for the ime diate protection
of its citizens, it shall therefore go into effect immediately
upon its passage.
The adoption of this ordinance was moved by the
Honorable Mayor Jay Dermer.

Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 30th day of January, 1970,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
