AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 297 OF SAID CITY GOVERNING
AND REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLA-
TION, REPAIR, ALTERATION AND REMOVAL OF
AWNINGS, ROLLER CURTAINS, CANOPIES AND ALL
CANVAS OR OTHER CLOTH PROTECTION AGAINST
SUN AND WEATHER ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROP-.
ERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH AND PROVIDING FOR A LICENSE,
CERTAIN INSURANCE AND PERMITS TOGETHER WITH
CERTAIN RULES AND RESTRICTIONS GOVERNING THE
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS, THE COLLECTION OF FEES,
AND THE CONSTRUCTION, AND ALSO PROVIDING FOR
A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:

That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 297 of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended by
adding thereto immediately following paragraph "G" there-
of, the following:
"H. Provided, however, that no awnings, roller
curtains, stationary awnings, canopies or tents shall
exceed fifty (50) percent of the ground area of the
building or portion of building in connection with
which it is to be used. In no case shall it exceed
ten (10) Percent of the area of the lot, lots or por-
tion of a lot or lots on which the main building is

REPAIR, ALTERATION AND REMOVAL OF AWNINGS, ROLLER CURTAINS,
CANOPIES AND ALL CANVAS OR OTHER CLOTH PROTECTION AGAINST SUN

VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE," having been duly passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Miami. Beach, Florida, has been
posted by me in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami
beach, one of which was at the door of the City Hall in said City
on the 5th day of November, A. D., 1936, and that said Ordinnce
remained posted for a period of at least thirty days in accordance
with the requirements of the City Charter of the said City of
Miami Leach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand
and affixed the official seal of the City of Miami beach, Florida,
on this the 7th day of December, A. D., 1936.
