13032 RESOLUTION NO. 13032
WHEREAS, in a communication dated June 4, 1970,
from George Marsch, Acting Chief, Engineering Division,
U. S. Army Corps. of Engineers to John Bergacker, Director
of Public Works of the City of Miami Beach, stated :
"The need and advisability of making
the north jetty at Government Cut sand
tight so as to prevent possible loss of
littoral material from the updrift beach
into Government Cut could be further in-
vestigated upon request. "
and
WHEREAS, the said John Bergacker did heretofore,
on March 10, 1970, report and recommend to the City Manager
as follows :
"that the City Council authorize, by reso-
lution, the administration to request the
Corps of Engineers to construct a per-
manent sand barrier on the north side of
the north jetty at Government Cut. "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the U. S. Army Corps of
Engineers be, and it is hereby, requested to construct a per-
manent sand barrier on the north side of the north jetty at
Government Cut, and that said work be accomplished with all
reasonable speed and dispatch.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of June, 1970.
