13518 RESOLUTION NO. 13518 WHEREAS, on May 24, 1971, JAMES THOMPSON, JR. , while employed by the City of Miami Beach, Public Works Department, injured his low back; and WHEREAS, the injured employee was examined and/or treated by Drs. Leo Grossman, Salvador M. Ramirez and Bernard M. Chariff; and WHEREAS, the claimant has been discharged by said physicians ; and Dr. Chariff rated Mr. THOMPSON as having a 10% permanent partial disability of the body as a whole; and WHEREAS, it is felt by the Legal Department, City of Miami Beach, that it is in the best interest of the City to enter into a compromise settlement stipulation under the provisions of §440.20 (10) , Florida Statutes, such settlement to be in the total amount of $2,548.00, payable to the claimant and his attorney; and WHEREAS, the payment of the sum hereinabove set forth will discharge forever the City' s liability of every description for past, present and future workmen ' s compen- sation benefits payable as a result of all the above-enu- merated accidents ; and WHEREAS, the Order of the Judge of the Industrial Claims approving the settlement stipulation will not be subject to modification or review; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to enter into a final settlement stipulation upon the terms hereinbefore set forth, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Legal Department be and it is hereby authorized to enter into final settlement stipulation with JAMES THOMPSON, JR. , and his at- torney and, if said agreement is approved by the Judge of Industrial Claims, the Mayor and the City Clerk-Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized and directed to comply with the Order of the Judge of Industrial Claims ap- proving said stipulation. PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of January, 1972 .
