13609 RESOLUTION NO. 13609 WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has been assured by Metropolitan Dade County, and the State Department of Transportation, that the widening of Fifth Street; the widening and repairing of West Avenue; and the construction of a vehicular bridge over Dade Canal connecting West Avenue with Dade Boulevard would be treated and considered as urgent projects admittedly of the most vital and imperative interest and importance to the City of Miami Beach and its residents and citizens, and WHEREAS, any delay in the accomplishment of these three projects will adversely affect the City of Miami Beach, and WHEREAS, Fifth Street in the City of Miami Beach, is one of the chief gateways to the City of Miami Beach, and its physical appearance is of paramount and transcendent im- portance to the City of Miami Beach, the County of Dade and the State of Florida, and WHEREAS, West Avenue due to its damaged pavement and defective drainage presents conditions hazardous to vehicular traffic and pedestrians alike; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, City of Miami Beach, Florida, that Dade County and the State Department of Transportation be, and they are hereby requested to appropriate sufficient funds in their respective 1973 budgets to bring these three projects to completion, and that said projects be accorded the highest possible priority, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted forthwith to all appropriate officers and agents of Dade County and the State Department of Transportation.
