RESOLUTION NO. 13617
BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to create a division in his department
to be denominated "The Office of Capital Projects Co-ordination, "
the personnel of which shall be appointed by the City Manager and
be directly responsible to the City Manager ; said Capital Projects
Co-ordination office shall consist of a staff comprised of not more
than three persons ; a Civil Engineer; an. Architect; and a Construc-
tion. Project Expediter. The personnel of said Capital Projects
Co-ordination office shall be employed on a strictly contractual
basis with no fringe benefits and for a specified term. The duties
of the personnel of said Capital Projects Co-ordination office
shall include the following:
1. Interviewing architects, consultants and other pro-
fessional disciplines needed to provide professional attention to
the design, site plan and general configuration of the projects
involved.
2 . Evaluate for this office those professionals investi-
gated, considered and interviewed.
3 . Coordinate with other city agalcies the preparation of
site development design and construction plans .
4. Review, evaluate and assist in the preparation of
plans and specifications for the implementation of approved plans
by public bidding.
5 . General job surveillance, expediting and coordinating
contractors ' efforts with city agencies concerned.
6. Preparation, review and coordination of all municipal
applications and expenditure of federal grant funds .
7. Review, evaluation and updating of existing develop-
ment plans and development studies that have been made, such as
the Gruen report and the Development Commission report.
8. Review and evaluation of operating budgetary capital
needs as related to planned bond fund capital projects.
9. Coordination of other governmental bodies ' and agen-
cies ' plans, programs and projects within this city as related to
this city ' s planned capital projects .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council, City of
Miami Beach, Florida, that all contracts for the employment of the
personnel of said office of Capital Projects Co-ordination shall
be subject to the approval of the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that this Reso-
lution shall be effective immediately upon its passage.
