Dear Dr. Johnson:
This letter will serve as an amendment to the existing
contract dated April 24, 1970, between the Church of the
Nazarene and the City of Miami Beach.
Church of the Nazarene will use Convention Hall North
from June 14 through June 23, 1972. Rental rate will be waived.
Church of the Nazarene will use Convention Hall South from
June 13 through June 23, 1972. Rental rate will be waived.
Church of the Nazarene will use the Auditorium from June 15-18,
1972, instead of June 15-21, 1972, at a rental rate of three
hundred and fifty ($350.00) dollars per day for a total of
fourteen hundred ($1400.00) dollars instead of "out of pocket"
expenses with a minimum guarantee of one thousand ($1000.00)
dollars for services furnished.
The above revised rental rate is based on the following
provisions which the Church of the Nazarene agrees to accept:
1. Any expenses incurred by them for the staging of their
convention including the podium would also be at their
expense and their responsibility.
2. Church of the Nazarene will negotiate the amount of security
needed based on contractors allowed in halls and their
guarantee to provide security.
•
Dr. B. Edgar Johnson -2- June 6, 1972
3. That additional parking behind the Auditorium be made
available to the Church of the Nazarene (at no cost) to
replace the parking area being utilized by the trailer
compound.
Church of the Nazarene has deposited with the City of Miami
Beach the sum of five thousand ($5000.00) dollars. This
deposit to be credited to above charges and balance due to
be refunded by City of Miami Beach to Church of the Nazarene.
All other terms and conditions set out in the existing contract
shall remain the same.
I am writing this letter in triplicate. If this method of
handling the changes meets with your approval, please sign
and return all three copies of the amendment to this office.
As soon as this amendment has been completed by the City, a
copy will be returned to you for your files.
