13730-A RESOLUTION NO. 13730-A
WHEREAS, HUBERT H. ALBRITTON, Chief of the Fire
Department of the City of Miami Beach, has resolved to retire
from the service of the City after a continuous period of 31
years, having risen from the ranks of Fireman and then
progressively through the positions and offices of Fire
Engineman, Company Fire Captain, Battalion Fire Captain,
and Deputy Chief, and thereafter in recognition of his
profound professional knowledge and outstanding and excep-
tional qualities of leadership, he was on May 1, 1967,
appointed as Chief of the Fire Department of the City of
Miami Beach, and in which high and responsible post he has
served with the utmost distinction and unequalled loyalty
and devotion; and
WHEREAS, because of his professional skills and
attainments, the City has been spared the ordeal of any
major conflagration and that losses to property and damage
to life have been limited to irreducible minimals ; and
WHEREAS, the exemplary service of said Fire Chief
Hubert H. Albritton has justifiably earned for himself and
the City of Miami Beach, high honors, recognition and acclaim
throughout the entire State of Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
and every resident and inhabitant of the City of Miami Beach
experience the most profound regret upon the decision of
Chief Hubert H. Albritton to retire from the service of the
City; and
WHEREAS, said City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
for itself and on behalf of its said residents, desires to
express its most genuine and warmest best wishes to the said
Chief Hubert H. Albritton for many years of good health and
all other honors which his career of dedicated public service
justly entitle him;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself;and on behalf of
its citizens; the entire official administration of the City; and
of all his loyal and dedicated fellow firemen, that this resolu-
tion be adopted as a formal expression of their profound apprecia-
tion and grateful recognition of the exceptionally devoted services
so rendered by the said Chief Hubert H. Albritton;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, that a suitably engrossed official copy
of this resolution be transmitted to the said Fire Chief Hubert H.
Albritton as a permanent memorial of his services .
