13776-A RESOLUTION NO. 13776A
WHEREAS, BERNARD K. PASSMAN, a highly artistic
and talented citizen and philanthropist, heretofore
donated to the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and to its
citizens and residents an artistic creation aptly
denominated the "Republican Presidential Tree" , which
creation memorializes each Republican president of the
United States, and
WHEREAS, this work of art was displayed by the
City of Miami Beach at its Convention Hall during the
progress of the 1968 Republican National Convention
held in this City, and
WHEREAS , said artistic production was an unending
source of interest and attraction to all persons attending
said Convention, and
WHEREAS, the said Bernard K. Passman has duly advised
the City of Miami Beach that he has other and further use for
the said "Republican Presidential Tree" and has duly requested
the return thereof to him, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has agreed to comply with said request,
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the proper officials
of the City, having the care, custody and control of said
"Republican Presidential Tree" be and they are hereby directed
to return to the said Bernard K. Passman, together with the
most profound, sincere and lasting appreciation of the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and its residents
and inhabitants, for his thoughtful generosity in having made
the exhibition of said "Republican Presidential Tree" possible.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 4th day of October, 1972.
