13830 RESOLUTION NO. 384
WHEREAS, the 1972 Bond Issue provides for the construc-
tion
onstruc-tion of a Sailport on Normandy Isle; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has determined to construct said Sailport on Normandy
Isle ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of
Miami Beach and its inhabitants to employ the firm of Herbert M:
Schwartz & Associates, Inc. , for the design of the project,whereby
the said firm agrees to perform the required services for a fee of
8% of construction cost, not to exceed a maximum amount of $16, 000;
and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared for the employment
of the said firm of Herbert M. Schwartz & Associates, Inc . , which
agreement calls for a project of $200, 000; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has approved the agreement as
to form, and the City Manager has recommended that the City Council
enter into the same; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach is
familiar with the provisions of said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE' CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk and Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the said agreement in the name of and on
behalf of said City, and the disbursing officers of the City are
hereby authorized and directed to disburse the monies required by
the terms of said agreement from funds of the City available for
such purpose.
